Shelton Man Sentenced for Oxycodone Sale

A Shelton man faces the consequences of his actions after he was sentenced to 30 days in prison for distributing oxycodone.

Salvatore Perry, a 45-year-old resident of Shelton, was handed down the sentence by U.S. District Judge Victor A. Bolden in Bridgeport. The sentence also included three years of supervised release, with the first six months to be served in home confinement.

Perry was arrested on December 4, 2018, after law enforcement made five controlled purchases of 30mg oxycodone pills from him. The pills were sold in quantities ranging from 30 to 60 per transaction.

According to court documents, Perry obtained the pills from at least two other individuals who had prescriptions for the drugs. His cell phone, seized during the arrest, contained evidence of the drug sales.

Perry pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute, and distribution of, oxycodone on October 24, 2019. He was released on a $250,000 bond, but is required to report to prison on February 7.

The matter was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Sarah P. Karwan prosecuted the case.
