Sandra Raven, Filing False Tax Returns, Louisiana 2019
A 53-year-old Laplace woman has pleaded guilty to filing false tax returns with the IRS.
Sandra Raven, a resident of Laplace, Louisiana, pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud before the Honorable Barry W. Ashe on Thursday, April 4, 2019.
According to court documents, Raven owned and operated S & R Tax Service out of her home in Laplace, Louisiana. Beginning in 2012, Raven filed fraudulent tax returns with the IRS in the names of others.
The tax returns claimed false wages, and Raven directed the tax refunds and tax preparation fees to her custody and control.
Raven faces a maximum term of imprisonment of 20 years, a maximum period of three years supervised release, and a $250,000 fine.
U.S. Attorney Strasser praised the work of the Internal Revenue Service, Criminal Investigations Division for its work in investigating this case.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U. S. Attorney G. Dall Kammer, Supervisor, General Crimes.
Sentencing is scheduled for July 11, 2019 at 1:30 p.m.
