PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania - In a shocking move, U.S. Attorney Scott W. Brady announced his resignation, effective February 28, 2021, bringing an end to his tenure as chief law enforcement officer for western Pennsylvania.

Brady, who was sworn-in as United States Attorney on December 14, 2017, expressed deep gratitude for the privilege of serving his home region, stating, 'Leading this office has been the greatest honor of my professional career.'

Additionally, Brady focused on fentanyl trafficking by domestic and international drug trafficking organizations, creating a new Narcotics and Organized Crime Section and appointing an Opioid Coordinator to serve as a point person for the district's strategic efforts.
