On May 1, 2007, Scott William Furrow, a 30-year-old former nurse, stood trial in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, facing serious charges related to a violent crime.

Furrow was accused of killing one person and injuring another at therabbi's home in Los Angeles. He had previously been convicted of assault in 2001, which led to his dismissal from his nursing position.
