Sedonnia Axl Lee Bass, a 28-year-old woman from Oak Grove, Louisiana, has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for trafficking methamphetamine. According to court records, Bass was found to be in possession of 117.0549 grams of 98% pure methamphetamine, which she admitted to selling in and around the Oak Grove area.
The arrest occurred on November 25, 2018, when West Carroll Parish Sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic violence call at an Oak Grove residence. While speaking with Bass, the deputy noticed that she was trying to conceal something near the center console of her vehicle. A search of the car revealed a black bag containing small baggies, a scale, a spoon, and a pink glass-smoking pipe wrapped in a handkerchief.
The search also turned up a clear plastic bag between the center console and the driver’s seat containing the 117.0549 grams of methamphetamine. Bass admitted that the methamphetamine belonged to her and stated that she sold it in the area. At the time of her arrest, Bass was on supervised release for a previous drug conviction in the Middle District of Florida.
Additionally, Bass was found to have violated her supervised release conditions related to a previous conviction, which led to an additional 15 months in prison. The two sentences will run consecutively, resulting in a total of 10 years and 15 months in prison.
The investigation into Bass's activities was conducted by the DEA, West Carroll Parish Sheriff’s Office, and Oak Grove Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Tennille M. Gilreath prosecuted the case.
