Selmonio Davis, Methamphetamine Trafficking, New Mexico 2019

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - A shocking tale of drug trafficking and firearm charges has come to an end for one Albuquerque resident. Selmonio Davis, 44, has been sentenced to nine years in prison for his involvement in a methamphetamine trafficking ring.

The charges against Davis include possessing methamphetamine with intent to distribute, being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, and possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

According to court documents, Davis pleaded guilty to these offenses on June 11, 2019. As part of his plea agreement, Davis admitted to selling methamphetamine and heroin in five separate transactions from March 13, 2019, through May 30, 2019.

A search warrant executed at Davis' apartment following these transactions revealed a stash of methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine, and materials used in the preparation for distribution of these narcotics. A Glock Model 26 semiautomatic handgun and ammunition were also located near the drugs.

The investigation into Davis' activities was a collaborative effort between the Albuquerque office of the FBI and the New Mexico State Police. Assistant U.S. Attorney David P. Cowen prosecuted the case.

Following his release from prison, Davis will serve three years of supervised release.
