Semaj Markes Leondre Figg, Fentanyl and Cocaine Possession, West Virginia 2024

A Huntington man has been sentenced to 5 years in prison for his role in a fentanyl and cocaine trafficking operation.

According to court documents, Semaj Markes Leondre Figg, 33, was found with 30 grams of crack and 54 grams of fentanyl at an 11th Avenue residence in Huntington on February 9, 2024.

Law enforcement officers responded to reports of shots fired at the residence and encountered Figg, who was arrested on an outstanding warrant. A search warrant was executed at the residence, and officers seized a Glock 22C pistol and a Ruger-5.7 pistol in addition to the narcotics.

Figg admitted to intending to sell the seized controlled substances, which led to his charges of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and cocaine base, also known as 'crack.'

The case was prosecuted as part of Operation Synthetic Opioid Surge (SOS), an enforcement surge aimed at reducing the supply of deadly synthetic opioids in high-impact areas.

United States District Judge Robert C. Chambers imposed the sentence, while Assistant United States Attorney Stephanie Taylor prosecuted the case. Acting United States Attorney Lisa G. Johnston commended the investigative work of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Huntington Police Department.

Figg will serve 5 years in prison, followed by 3 years of supervised release. His exact date of imprisonment was not specified.
