Shatasia Emoney Sanders Taylor Sentenced to 27 Months in Prison for Alien Smuggling and Assault of a Federal Agent

Shatasia Emoney Sanders Taylor, 25, of Phoenix, was sentenced to 27 months in prison, followed by 36 months of supervised release, for her crimes. She was ordered to serve 36 months of supervised release. The U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Arizona, handled the prosecution, and Customs and Border Protection’s United States Border Patrol conducted the investigation.
The crime occurred on February 7, 2023, when Taylor was transporting three undocumented noncitizens in a desert area near Bisbee. The vehicle she was driving was stopped by a U.S. Border Patrol agent, who was dragged alongside the vehicle when Taylor hit the gas pedal.
Taylor pleaded guilty to the charges on September 6, 2023. The case number is CR-23-1295-TUC-RM, and the release number is 2024-090_Taylor.
