Shawn Collins, Oxycodone Distribution, West Virginia 2015

A Monongalia County man has pleaded guilty to distributing oxycodone in federal court, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of West Virginia.

Shawn Collins, 43, of Morgantown, West Virginia, admitted to selling oxycodone in Monongalia County in April 2015.

Collins faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $1,000,000.

The actual sentence imposed will be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Zelda E. Wesley prosecuted the case on behalf of the government.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the West Virginia State Police investigated.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael Aloi presided over the case.

Collins is scheduled to be sentenced at a later date.

As of now, Collins is facing a maximum of 20 years in prison and a $1,000,000 fine.
