Shilo Hill Sentenced for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon

A Ridgeview, South Dakota, man has been sentenced to 24 months in custody for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, according to a recent U.S. federal court ruling.

Shilo Hill, a/k/a Shilo Roubideau, age 20, was handed down the sentence by U.S. District Judge Roberto A. Lange on July 5, 2016.

Hill, a resident of Ridgeview, South Dakota, was convicted of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, a federal crime that carries severe penalties.

The incident that led to Hill's conviction took place on October 3, 2015, when he and his brother allegedly confronted the victim at his ex-girlfriend's residence near Swiftbird, South Dakota.

According to court records, Hill used a tire iron to break out windows and a hole in the wall at the victim's residence, causing damage estimated at $2,241.46.

Hill was also ordered to pay $2,241.46 in restitution and a special assessment of $100 to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Jay Miller prosecuted the case, which was investigated by the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services.

Hill was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service to begin serving his sentence.
