Solomon Lamont Horsechief, Sexual Abuse In Indian Country, Oklahoma 2020

Muskogee, Oklahoma - In a disturbing case that highlights the darker side of human nature, Solomon Lamont Horsechief, a 35-year-old Muskogee resident, has pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a minor in Indian Country. The heinous crime occurred on March 27, 2020, within the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

According to the Information filed in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, Horsechief knowingly engaged in a sexual act with A.R., a minor who was physically incapable of declining participation or communicating unwillingness to engage in the act. The charges arose from an investigation by the Muskogee Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The Honorable Kimberly E. West, U.S. Magistrate Judge, accepted Horsechief's guilty plea and ordered the completion of a presentence investigation report. The defendant faces imprisonment of any term of years up to life, a fine of up to $250,000.00, or both. Special Assistant United States Attorney Courtney Jordan represented the United States in this case.
