Stanley Demargo Thomas, Marijuana Distribution, Oklahoma 2014

A 48-year-old Okmulgee man has been found guilty of distributing marijuana in a federal court in Muskogee, Oklahoma.

Stanley Demargo Thomas, a native of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, a Schedule I controlled substance, in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Sections 841(a)(1) and (b)(1)(D).

The charges against Thomas arose from an investigation by the United States Marshal Service.

According to court records, on or about October 11, 2014, in the Eastern District of Oklahoma, Thomas did knowingly and intentionally possess with the intent to distribute marijuana, a Schedule I controlled substance.

Thomas was indicted in March 2015. He recently pleaded guilty to the charges and is awaiting sentencing. The Honorable Steven P. Shreder, Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, in Muskogee, accepted the guilty plea and ordered a presentence report to be completed.

Assistant United States Attorney Dean Burris represented the United States. Thomas's sentencing has yet to be determined.

This case is a reminder of the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat marijuana distribution in Oklahoma.

The case has been ongoing since March 2015, when Thomas was indicted.

Thomas is currently awaiting sentencing.
