A 37-year-old Shinnston woman has admitted to her role in a massive methamphetamine and heroin distribution ring in Ritchie County.

Stephanie Cottrill pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and distribute methamphetamine and heroin in a hearing before U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael Aloi.

The charges stem from an investigation that revealed Cottrill worked with others to distribute the illicit substances from November 2019 to January 2020.

As part of her plea agreement, Cottrill faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $1,000,000. The actual sentence will be determined by the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, taking into account the severity of the crimes and any prior convictions.
