Oklahoma City, OK - A Georgia man has been charged with disrupting a Delta flight, causing it to be diverted to Oklahoma City.

Stephon Jamar Duncan, 36, of Atlanta, Georgia, was charged in federal court with one count of interference with flight crew members and attendants, announced Acting U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester.

According to the Complaint, on June 11, 2021, Duncan caused a disturbance on Delta Flight #1730, forcing the flight to be diverted to Oklahoma City.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Matt Dillon and Travis Smith are prosecuting the case, which is the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Oklahoma City Field Office and the Oklahoma City Police Department.

Under the federal statute, Duncan faces up to twenty years in federal prison and up to a $250,000 fine, followed by three years of supervised release.
