Steven Mazer, Child Pornography, Pennsylvania 2013
PHILADELPHIA - A Philadelphia man has been sentenced to 60 years in prison for producing child pornography, the statutory maximum.
According to authorities, Steven Mazer, 27, pleaded guilty on June 24, 2013, to two counts of production of child pornography.
In December 2011, Mazer was babysitting two minor children, a two-year-old and a three-year-old, when he enticed and coerced them to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing a visual depiction of such conduct. Mazer video recorded the sexually violent acts.
The case was investigated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Vineet Gauri.
Steven Mazer, 27, of Philadelphia, was sentenced to 60 years in prison, the statutory maximum, for production of child pornography.
As part of the sentence, U.S. District Court Judge Jan E. DuBois also ordered a fine of $2,500, five years of supervised release, and a $200 special assessment.
This is a stark reminder of the dangers of child exploitation and the importance of holding perpetrators accountable for their crimes.
