Burlington, VT - A chilling case of hate crime has unfolded in Burlington, Vermont, as Stuart Kurt Rollins, 58, faces serious charges for his actions against a local Hispanic family. The indictment, handed down this week, brings to light a disturbing pattern of intimidation and threats.

The Charges: A Violation of Civil Rights

Rollins has been indicted for two counts of violating 42 U.S.C. § 3631, specifically interfering with housing rights. The charges stem from a July 29, 2019, incident where Rollins repeatedly threatened and intimidated members of the family, including three minors, because of their race and national origin. His outbursts included derogatory comments, instructions to 'go back to their country,' and threats to burn down their home and set family members on fire.
