Sudiata Neket Zanja Stinson, Fentanyl Distribution, Florida 2023

A Vero Beach man has been convicted of distributing fentanyl in federal court, according to a recent plea agreement.

Sudiata Neket Zanja Stinson, 47, of Vero Beach, Florida, pleaded guilty to two counts of distributing fentanyl on February 7.

The charges stem from two separate incidents in April 2023, in which Stinson sold approximately 20 grams of fentanyl to a purchaser.

The investigation was led by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Indian River County Sheriff's Office (IRCSO), as part of a fentanyl distribution operation.

Stinson faces up to 40 years in federal prison, pending a sentencing hearing that has yet to be scheduled.

The U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, Markenzy Lapointe, along with Special Agent in Charge Deanne L. Reuter of the DEA Miami Field Division, and Sheriff Eric Flowers of IRCSO, made the announcement.

The DEA Miami Field Division, Port St. Lucie Resident Office, and IRCSO investigated the case.
