In a shocking move, 51-year-old Susan Lea Combs of Pottawattamie County, Iowa, was sentenced to 120 months (10 years) imprisonment for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. The sentence was handed down by United States Senior District Court Judge Ronald Longstaff on February 1, 2013.
Combs' co-defendant, 52-year-old David Dwayne Mendez of Polk County, Iowa, received a similar sentence of 108 months (9 years) for his role in the conspiracy. Mendez was also ordered to serve a four-year period of supervised release following his incarceration.
