Swallow Holly, Meth Trafficking, New Mexico 2021

Published July 16, 2021

Meth Trafficking Rings Hit Hard in New Mexico: Swallow Holly, a 42-year-old Questa resident, was at the center of a large-scale methamphetamine distribution operation.

Swallow Holly, age 42, was sentenced to 54 months in federal prison, five years of supervised release, a $1,000 fine, and a special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims fund in the amount of $100 for her role in a methamphetamine trafficking operation.

The investigation, which spanned from 2016 to 2019, revealed that Swallow knowingly and intentionally conspired with others to distribute methamphetamine in the states of South Dakota, New Mexico, and Colorado.

According to court documents, Swallow supplied between 500 grams and 1,500 grams of methamphetamine to individuals on the Rosebud Sioux Indian Reservation in South Dakota.

The Rosebud Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services, the Northern Plains Safe Trails Drug Enforcement Task Force, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Cameron J. Cook prosecuted the case.

Holly Swallow was indicted by a federal grand jury on June 11, 2019. She pled guilty on April 26, 2021. Her immediate remand to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service followed her sentencing on July 15, 2021.

The harsh sentence sends a clear message to those involved in methamphetamine trafficking: the consequences are severe and the risks are not worth it.
