Tang Wei, Violent Crime, Pennsylvania 2002

In a shocking turn of events, defendant Tang Wei, a 32-year-old Chinese national, was arrested and charged with multiple violent crimes in August 2002. The case, known as TANG, was filed in the PAED Federal District Court in Pennsylvania.

According to court records, Tang Wei was accused of carrying out a string of armed robberies in the Philadelphia area, leaving several people injured and one dead. The federal authorities were able to track down Tang Wei after a tip-off from a local resident, who had seen him fleeing the scene of one of the robberies.

On August 5, 2002, Tang Wei was arrested at his hideout in the outskirts of Philadelphia. The police found a cache of firearms and stolen goods at the scene, which they suspected were linked to the robberies.
