Alorton Man Faces Prison Time for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm
Termain D. Moore, a 21-year-old resident of Alorton, Illinois, has pleaded guilty to Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Previously Convicted Felon.
According to court records, on February 26, 2013, Moore entered a guilty plea in the Federal District Court in East St. Louis, Illinois.
Moore's guilty plea stems from an incident that occurred on October 12, 2012, when an East St. Louis police officer observed Moore walking into a liquor store with a small revolver in his hand.
The officer immediately radioed for backup and pursued Moore, who eventually threw the firearm to the ground.
Moore was subsequently arrested and admitted to possessing the gun and throwing it to the ground.
Moore is scheduled to be sentenced on June 10, 2013, and faces a maximum potential sentence of 10 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and not more than three years of supervised release after his prison term. He also agreed to the forfeiture of the firearm and a mandatory special assessment of $100.
This case was investigated by the East St. Louis Police Department and was assigned to Special Assistant United States Attorney Matthew H. Brooks for prosecution.
