Tharon Jamell Taylor, Methamphetamine Conspiracy, Mississippi 2018
Grimy Times has learned that a Pascagoula man has been sentenced to 24 years in federal prison for his involvement in a methamphetamine conspiracy. Tharon Jamell Taylor, 27, was sentenced on February 20, 2018 by United States District Judge Sul Ozerden.
According to authorities, Taylor was arrested on August 20, 2017 by the FBI Safe Streets Task Force as he attempted to obtain approximately 2 kilograms of methamphetamine shipped from Texas. During the investigation, agents discovered that Taylor received methamphetamine on at least six different occasions.
Upon arresting Taylor, law enforcement searched his apartment and found money, a scale, methamphetamine, cutting agents, and a gun. Taylor pled guilty to conspiring to possess with intent to distribute more than 500 grams of methamphetamine.
Under the terms of the sentence, Taylor will serve 295 months in federal prison, followed by 5 years of supervised release. Taylor was also ordered to pay a $3,000 fine.
The case was investigated by the FBI Safe Streets Task Force in Pascagoula, Mississippi and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Kathlyn R. Van Buskirk.
