Theodore Allan, Distribution of Child Pornography, Arizona 2008
A 54-year-old Glendale, Arizona man has been sentenced to five years in prison for distributing child pornography.
Theodore Allan was sentenced on August 4, 2008, and admitted to distributing child pornography via email as part of the plea agreement.
The charges against Allan were brought in March 2007, after U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents discovered approximately nine videos and 267 images depicting the sexual abuse of children during a search of Allan's home on July 14, 2006.
The case against Allan was part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006.
The investigation was conducted by ICE, and the case was prosecuted by Trial Attorney James Silver of the Criminal Division's Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS) and Senior Litigation Counsel Vincent Q. Kirby of the District of Arizona.
The U.S. Attorney for the District of Arizona, Diane J. Humetewa, announced the sentencing, along with Acting Assistant Attorney General of the Criminal Division, Rita M. Glavin.
