McLaughlin, SD - In a shocking turn of events, Theresa Red Fox, a 35-year-old McLaughlin woman, has been charged with assaulting two Bureau of Indian Affairs police officers in May 2020.

According to sources, Red Fox allegedly assaulted the officers while they were performing a lawful arrest on May 27, 2020. The Bureau of Indian Affairs, Office of Justice Services, is leading the investigation into the incident.

The charges against Red Fox include two counts of Assault of a Federal Officer. If convicted, she faces a maximum penalty of eight years in federal prison and/or a $250,000 fine, three years of supervised release, and $100 to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.
