Timothy Gilmore, Child Enticement, Indiana 2016
FORT WAYNE, Indiana - A Missouri man has been brought to justice for his heinous crimes against a minor.
Timothy Gilmore, a 37-year-old resident of Doniphan, Missouri, was sentenced to 180 months imprisonment and 5 years of supervised release for using a computer to entice a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct.
According to documents filed in this case, between January 8, 2016, and April 18, 2016, Gilmore began communicating with a 16-year-old juvenile from Fort Wayne, Indiana, over social media.
The communications transitioned into telephone communications, during which Gilmore solicited and enticed the juvenile to engage in sexually explicit conduct and to produce videos and still images of said conduct and to transmit the videos and images to him via the internet.
Gilmore then reposted the transmitted images on his online blog, a despicable act that has left many shaken.
This case was the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Fort Wayne Police Department, with Assistant United States Attorney Stacey R. Speith handling the case.
As the people of Fort Wayne and the surrounding areas can rest easier knowing that justice has been served, we must also remember the importance of online safety and the need for vigilance when interacting with strangers online.
