Timothy Raymond Myers, Child Pornography Production, South Dakota 2024

In a severe blow to the scourge of child pornography, Timothy Raymond Myers, a 39-year-old man from Buffalo, New York, has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for producing child pornography.

The sentencing took place on July 22, 2024, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Myers was convicted of Production of Child Pornography, a heinous crime that has shaken the nation.

According to court documents, Myers impersonated a teenage male on Facebook and contacted a teenage minor female in South Dakota between July 4, 2016, and July 2, 2017. He then coerced the teenager into sending him sexually explicit photos, threatening to publicly post them unless she sent more.

Law enforcement officers investigating the case discovered that Myers had victimized multiple teenage girls across the United States using the same methods.

Myers, whose aliases include C.J. Mikowski and Colin James, pleaded guilty on April 30, 2024. He was immediately remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched by the U.S. government in May 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.

The conviction was brought about through the tireless efforts of Homeland Security Investigations and Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeffrey C. Clapper.

Myers will serve his 30-year prison sentence concurrently with a 20-year federal sentence he received in 2020 from New York. He will also serve five years of supervised release and pay a special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund in the amount of $100.
