Todd Babb, Meth Conspiracy, Iowa 2025

Todd Babb, a 62-year-old man from Sioux City, Iowa, has pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute methamphetamine in the area.

According to evidence presented at Babb's plea hearing on November 19, 2025, in federal court in Sioux City, he was involved in a methamphetamine distribution ring between 2018 and August 2024. During this period, more than 1500 grams of methamphetamine were distributed in the Sioux City area.

The investigation, led by the Tri-State Drug Task Force based in Sioux City, Iowa, revealed that Babb was previously convicted of two prior felony drug offenses, one in Iowa District Court and another in Federal Court. Babb admitted to conspiring to distribute the illicit substance and possessing it with intent to distribute.

Law enforcement seized over $3,000 and ¼ pound of methamphetamine from Babb's residence, as well as approximately one pound of methamphetamine from a vehicle outside his residence.

Babb faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years' imprisonment and a possible maximum sentence of life imprisonment, along with a $20,000,000 fine and at least ten years of supervised release following any imprisonment. Sentencing will be set after a presentence report is prepared.

Babb remains in custody of the United States Marshal pending sentencing. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Shawn S. Wehde.

The Tri-State Drug Task Force, which consists of law enforcement personnel from various agencies, including the Drug Enforcement Administration, Sioux City Police Department, and Woodbury County Sheriff's Office, played a crucial role in investigating and bringing Babb to justice.
