Tommy Watkins, 32 years old, pleaded guilty to the crime and was sentenced by United States District Court Chief Judge Jon E. DeGuilio. This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative designed to protect children from exploitation and abuse.

The investigation was led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation's GRIT unit, with the assistance of the Porter County Sheriff’s Department. Assistant United States Attorney Philip C. Benson prosecuted the case.
