Armed Robbery at Family Dollar in South Wichita

A Kansas man has pleaded guilty to committing an armed robbery at a Family Dollar in south Wichita.

On October 1, 2019, 25-year-old Toney D. Williams displayed a handgun when he robbed a Family Dollar at 2301 S. Seneca. Williams, a resident of Wichita, Kansas, pleaded guilty to one count of robbery in federal court.

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Kansas reported that Williams admitted to the crime in his plea. He faces sentencing on April 13, with both parties agreeing to recommend a sentence of 84 months in federal prison.

The investigation into the armed robbery was a collaborative effort between the FBI, the Wichita Police Department, the Safe Streets Task Force, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Aaron Smith.

Williams' admission to the crime marks a significant milestone in the case, which began with the armed robbery of a Family Dollar store in south Wichita.
