Toshnelle Foster, Racketeering, New York 2018
A total of 20 members and associates of the MacBallas street gang, including Toshnelle Foster, were charged with racketeering and other crimes in federal court in Manhattan.
The charges include racketeering, narcotics trafficking, robbery, and firearms offenses. Two defendants are also charged with the 2011 murder of Daniel Delgado.
The MacBallas gang, based in the Andrew Jackson and Melrose housing projects in the Bronx, engaged in a range of illegal activities, including selling heroin, crack cocaine, and marijuana, as well as promoting their gang affiliation on social media sites like Facebook.
Toshnelle Foster, whose real name is Tosh, is one of the 20 defendants charged in the case. He is accused of participating in the gang's activities, including narcotics trafficking and robbery.
The case is part of a broader effort by law enforcement to combat gang activity in the Bronx. Geoffrey S. Berman, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, said that the people of New York will not stand for gang violence and that the defendants will face justice for their alleged crimes.
The defendants, including Toshnelle Foster, are expected to be presented and arraigned before U.S. Magistrate Judge Kevin N. Fox later today. The case is assigned to U.S. District Judge Denise L. Cote.
