Travis Johnson, Methamphetamine Possession with Intent to Distribute, Wisconsin 2019
A Crawford County man was sentenced to 78 months in federal prison for possessing methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
Travis Johnson, 32, of Gays Mills, Wisconsin, pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced by U.S. District Judge James D. Peterson.
According to the investigation, on November 10, 2019, a Crawford County Sheriff's deputy saw an SUV being driven erratically in the village of Soldiers Grove, Wisconsin.
The deputy pulled up behind the SUV and saw the driver, later identified as Johnson, attempt to hide on a patio of a nearby residence.
The deputy searched Johnson's SUV and found several grams of Psilocybin mushrooms, a digital scale coated in white residue, hypodermic needles, and gem baggies.
Additionally, the deputy found a large plastic bag containing 162 grams of methamphetamine on the patio where Johnson was hiding.
The charge against Johnson was the result of an investigation conducted by the Crawford County Sheriff's Office.
The prosecution of the case has been handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Chadwick M. Elgersma.
Johnson is currently serving a 78-month sentence in federal prison.
