Tre Robert Allen Ackerson Pleads Guilty to Kidnapping and Murder in Oklahoma

Tre Robert Allen Ackerson, a 29-year-old man from Webb City, Missouri, has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the death of Osage Nation citizen Jolene Walker Campbell. Ackerson faces up to life in federal prison with no possibility of parole.

The crime occurred in the early morning hours of July 5, 2020, in Mayes County, Oklahoma. According to the investigation, Ackerson and his co-defendant, Breanna Sloan, conspired to kidnap and murder Campbell. They then conspired with additional co-defendants to threaten witnesses and destroy evidence in an effort to cover up their crimes.

“Tre Ackerson, along with codefendant Breanna Sloan, conspired to kidnap and brutally murder the victim,” said U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson. “This final conviction reflects three years of work and commitment from our law enforcement partners and federal prosecutors to provide justice for the victim and her family.”

Jolene Campbell was only 35 when she was brutally murdered, a young woman with a long life ahead of her. She left behind a grieving family that deserves justice. After three long years and 9 convictions, they hope they can finally begin to heal from this tragic loss.
