Trey Jackson, Deangelo Copeland Charged with Armed Bank Robbery, Indiana 2013

A pair of Fort Wayne men, Trey Jackson, 24, and Deangelo Copeland, 36, have been charged with armed bank robbery after a grand jury returned a three-count indictment on April 24, 2013. The charges stem from an alleged heist on April 15, 2013, during which the pair allegedly used a firearm in relation to a crime of violence.

According to the indictment, Jackson and Copeland are accused of two counts of armed bank robbery and one count of using a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence. If convicted, they could face significant prison time, as this case has been assigned to and will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Anthony W. Geller.

In a separate indictment, Nicole Andrews, 35, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, was charged with armed bank robbery and accessory after the fact on April 15, 2013. This charge was also filed as a result of the investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Northeast Indiana Federal Bank Robbery Task Force, and the Fort Wayne Police Department.

An investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Northeast Indiana Federal Bank Robbery Task Force, and the Fort Wayne Police Department led to the charges against Jackson, Copeland, and Andrews. The FBI's Northeast Indiana Federal Bank Robbery Task Force works closely with local law enforcement agencies to combat bank robberies and related crimes.

The United States Attorney's Office emphasized that an indictment is merely an allegation and that all persons charged are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court. The outcome of this case will be determined by the judge after a consideration of federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.

Additionally, Matthew Lester Vanschoick, 28, and Michael Clayton Bure, 26, both of Fort Wayne, Indiana, were charged in a single count indictment with bank robbery on October 28, 2011. This charge was filed as a result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Northeast Indiana Federal Bank Robbery Task Force, and the New Haven Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Lesley J. Miller Lowery will be prosecuting this case.
