Treyon Bloodsoe, Firearms Theft, Missouri 2023

A Kansas City man has been sentenced in federal court for his role in a conspiracy to steal over 100 firearms from vehicles in the Westport entertainment district and elsewhere in the metropolitan area.

Treyon Bloodsoe, 22, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Greg Kays to seven years three months in federal prison without parole. This is in connection with a scheme to steal more than 100 firearms from vehicles between June 18 to Nov. 19, 2021.

According to court documents, Bloodsoe and his co-conspirators used social media to advertise the stolen firearms for sale, which included sales to individuals who were prohibited by law from possessing firearms. Bloodsoe admitted to selling a Glock handgun to a juvenile.

Bloodsoe was also found in possession of a Glock 10mm handgun and a KelTec 5.56x45mm rifle, both of which had been reported as stolen, when law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at his residence on Nov. 4, 2021.

Bloodsoe is the fifth and final defendant to be sentenced in this case. Other defendants include Rayquan Duane Pettaway, 25, who was sentenced to 11 years and eight months in federal prison without parole; Roy Rushing, 27, who was sentenced to nine years and two months in federal prison without parole; Drevion Hooker, 22, who was sentenced to seven years and one month in federal prison without parole; and Bobby Lamb, 22, who was sentenced to 11 years in federal prison without parole.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Stefan C. Hughes. It was investigated by the Kansas City, Mo., Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Bloodsoe was ordered to pay $1,500 in restitution, for which all defendants in this case are jointly and severally liable.

Bloodsoe pleaded guilty to his role in the conspiracy to receive, possess, and dispose of stolen firearms and to possessing stolen firearms.

This crime occurred in Kansas City, Missouri, and the sentencing took place on Oct. 26, 2023.
