Treyson Lee Sharp, Manslaughter, Montana 2024

GREAT FALLS – A Browning man accused of killing an individual and possessing an unlawful firearm appeared today for arraignment, U.S. Attorney Kurt Alme said.

The defendant, Treyson Lee Sharp, 21, pleaded not guilty to an indictment charging him with one count of involuntary manslaughter and one count of possession of an unregistered firearm.

The maximum penalties for involuntary manslaughter are 8 years of imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, and three years of supervised release. The penalties for possession of an unlawful firearm are 10 years of imprisonment, a $10,000 fine, and three years of supervised release.

U.S. Magistrate Judge John T. Johnston presided over the arraignment. Sharp was released pending further proceedings.

According to the indictment, on or about December 28, 2024, Sharp discharged a loaded firearm while pointing it at Jane Doe, killing her. The incident occurred at or near Browning.

The FBI, ATF, Blackfeet Law Enforcement Services, Glacier County Sheriff’s Office, and Montana Division of Criminal Investigation conducted the investigation.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Kalah Paisley is prosecuting the case, which is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative aimed at repelling the invasion of illegal immigration, achieving the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations, and protecting communities from violent crime.

The charging documents are merely accusations, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
