Troy A. Ditiway, Child Pornography, Indiana 2012
A federal indictment has been returned against Troy A. Ditiway, a 26-year-old man from Fort Wayne, Indiana, on charges of possession of child pornography.
According to the indictment, Ditiway is accused of possessing one or more matters containing visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct on or about September 20, 2012. The indictment also seeks the forfeiture of a computer and a thumb drive that were allegedly used to store the child pornography.
The investigation into Ditiway's activities was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Fort Wayne Police Department. The case has been assigned to and will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Lesley J. Miller Lowery.
The United States Attorney's Office emphasized that an indictment is merely an allegation and that all persons charged are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court.
If convicted, Ditiway faces a sentence to be determined by the judge after a consideration of federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
The indictment was returned by a federal grand jury sitting in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on December 18, 2012.
The case is a reminder of the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat the production and distribution of child pornography, which is a serious crime that can have devastating consequences for its victims.
