Published October 16, 2019

WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA – A shocking revelation has rocked the quiet streets of Ohio County, as local authorities revealed that Tyler Oliver, a 33-year-old man from St. Louisville, Ohio, has admitted to a drug distribution charge.

Oliver, age 33, pled guilty to one count of Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute and to Distribute 3,4-Dichloro-N-[2-(dimethylamino) cyclohexyl]-Nmethylbenzamide (“U47700”), a synthetic opioid. He admitted to working with another individual to distribute the deadly substance from June 2016 to December 2016 in Ohio County and elsewhere.

According to sources, Oliver's actions have serious consequences. He faces up to 20 years of incarceration and a fine of up to $1,000,000. The actual sentence imposed will be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen L. Vogrin is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government. The United States Postal Inspection Service investigated the matter.

A U.S. Magistrate Judge, James P. Mazzone, presided over the proceedings.

Oliver's guilty plea is a significant blow to the community, and law enforcement officials are working tirelessly to prevent the spread of synthetic opioids like U47700.

The case is a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of drug trafficking and the importance of holding perpetrators accountable for their actions.
