A federal grand jury in the Middle District of Alabama has indicted Tyler Smith, a resident of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on charges of Wire Fraud, Money Laundering, Bank Fraud, and Aggravated Identity Theft.

According to the indictment, the charges were brought on June 15, 2023 and were announced by United States Attorney Ron Parsons.

The indictment alleges that Smith engaged in a scheme to defraud victims through his involvement in cryptocurrency investments. The charges also include allegations of money laundering and bank fraud related to the scheme.

The case is being prosecuted by the United States Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Alabama, and the investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
