Tyler Ward, Distributing Fentanyl, New Hampshire 2023

Published June 13, 2023

A Dover man has been sentenced to 5 years in federal prison for distributing fentanyl and possessing additional fentanyl with intent to distribute in New Hampshire.

Tyler Ward, 36, was sentenced to 60 months in prison and 3 years of supervised release by U.S. District Court Judge Joseph Laplante.

The charges against Ward stem from two controlled purchases of fentanyl from his apartment in Dover. On February 2, 2022, and February 11, 2022, law enforcement officers conducted the controlled purchases, acquiring 5 grams of fentanyl each.

At the time of his arrest on March 3, 2022, Ward possessed 8 grams of fentanyl. An additional 625 grams of fentanyl was found in his apartment.

Ward admitted to law enforcement in a post-arrest interview that he intended to sell the fentanyl.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation led the investigation, with valuable assistance provided by the Dover Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Aaron Gingrande prosecuted the case.

This effort is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation, which identifies, disrupts, and dismantles the highest-level criminal organizations that threaten the United States.
