Tyrone Lewis, Distributing Child Pornography, Mississippi 2024

Gulfport, MS - A Pascagoula man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for distributing images of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct.

Gulfport, MS - In a disturbing case of child exploitation, Tyrone Lewis, 20, has been handed a 20-year prison sentence for distributing images of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct.

According to court documents, the crime occurred in Jackson County, Mississippi, where Lewis had sexual contact with a 14-year-old.

Lewis recorded some of the sexual acts on a cell phone and sent the victim videos of himself and the victim engaging in sexual activity.

The investigation reveled that Lewis knowingly sent the victim videos of himself and the victim engaging in sexual activity. A text message on the victim’s cell phone confirmed that Lewis knew the victim was a minor.

Acting U.S. Attorney Patrick A. Lemon of the Southern District of Mississippi and Special Agent in Charge Eric DeLaune of Homeland Security Investigations made the announcement.

The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations and the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Lee Smith prosecuted the case.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006.

Tyrone Lewis, Defendant, was sentenced to 20 years in prison, with no mention of a fine. The crime occurred in Pascagoula, Mississippi. The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations and the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Lee Smith.
