Natchez Man Accused of Illicit Gun Possession

A 23-year-old man from Natchez, Mississippi, is facing the consequences of a serious crime.

Tywone Noble, 23, was observed holding an assault rifle by agents with the Mississippi Department of Corrections on November 19, 2018, in the area of Beaumont Street, while under a felony indictment.

Noble was indicted on January 22, 2018, on felony charges and was subsequently charged in a federal indictment on April 16, 2019, for possessing a firearm while under felony indictment.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives investigated the case and is pursuing prosecution through the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Mississippi.

Noble is set to be sentenced on October 1, 2019, and could face up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

This case is part of Project EJECT, a comprehensive initiative aimed at reducing violent crime through prosecution, prevention, re-entry, and awareness.

Project EJECT is a collaborative effort between law enforcement agencies and the local community to address the root causes of violent crime and create safer neighborhoods.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Bert Carraway.
