Ubald Yasir Amaya-Colindres, Illegal Reentry of Removed Alien, Louisiana 2026
Ubald Yasir Amaya-Colindres, a 27-year-old Honduran national, has been found guilty of reentering the United States after being previously removed.
The crime occurred sometime prior to March 1, 2026, when Amaya-Colindres reentered the country, violating Title 8, United States Code, Section 1326(a).
Amaya-Colindres' sentencing is set before U.S. District Judge Eldon E. Fallon on June 25, 2026, where he faces a maximum term of imprisonment of 10 years, a fine of up to $250,000.00, up to three years supervised release after imprisonment, and a mandatory $100 special assessment fee.
According to the bill of information, Amaya-Colindres was previously removed from the United States on or about June 13, 2024.
U.S. Attorney David I. Courcelle praised the work of the United States Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in investigating this matter.
Assistant United States Attorney Irene González is in charge of the prosecution.
