Mason City Man Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison for Conspiring to Distribute Methamphetamine

A 10-year prison sentence has been handed down to Victor Ineson, a 50-year-old man from Mason City, Iowa, for conspiring to distribute methamphetamine. Ineson pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine on November 24, 2025.

According to court documents, Ineson and another individual utilized the 'dark web' to purchase approximately three pounds of methamphetamine between April 2024 and December 2024. The methamphetamine was shipped to them via the U.S. Postal Service for further distribution in the Iowa area.

Ineson's sentence includes 120 months' imprisonment, followed by a five-year term of supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system. He is currently being held in the United States Marshal's custody until he can be transported to a federal prison.

Ineson has a prior conviction from 2017 in federal court for manufacturing counterfeit currency. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Patrick T. Greenwood and investigated by the United States Postal Inspection Service, the Clear Lake Police Department, and the Cerro Gordo Sheriff’s Office.
