San Carlos Man Sentenced to 37 Months for Distributing Methamphetamine

PHOENIX – Victor James Long, Sr., 34, of San Carlos, Arizona, was sentenced to 37 months' imprisonment, followed by three years of supervised release, for distributing methamphetamine in the San Carlos Community.

Long had previously pleaded guilty to possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine.

According to the San Carlos Police Department, on February 6, 2014, Long was arrested on an unrelated matter. During a search of his clothing incident to that arrest, the Police Chief located 28 grams of methamphetamine.

Long admitted he possessed the methamphetamine for purposes of distribution on the San Carlos Community.

The investigation in this case was conducted by the San Carlos Police Department, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

The prosecution was handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Thomas Simon, District of Arizona, Phoenix.

Long's sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Susan M. Brnovich on February 4, 2019. The case number is CR-18-583-PHX-SSMB, and the release number is 2019-008_Long.
