Wayne Smith, Meth Trafficking, New Hampshire 2024

A Concord man has been brought to justice for his role in distributing methamphetamine and possessing fentanyl with intent to distribute. Wayne Smith, 49, pleaded guilty to these charges in federal court, according to U.S. Attorney Jane E. Young.

The investigation into Smith's activities began in August 2023, when the New Hampshire State Police received information regarding methamphetamine sales in the Concord area. This led to an ensuing investigation, which resulted in Smith's indictment on federal charges on May 8, 2024.

The New Hampshire State Police and the Concord Police Department led the investigation, which culminated in Smith's guilty plea. Assistant United States Attorney Jeff Strelzin is prosecuting the case.

Smith pleaded guilty to distribution of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and fentanyl with the intent to distribute, possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking, and possession of a firearm and ammunition by a prohibited person.

U.S. District Court Judge Paul J. Barbadoro scheduled sentencing for March 10, 2025. The court will determine Smith's sentence at this time.
