Broken Bow Man Pleads Guilty to Methamphetamine Distribution, Faces Up to 20 Years in Prison and $1,000,000 Fine

MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA –

A 51-year-old man from Broken Bow, Oklahoma has pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance, announced the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

Wendell Ray Caudle, age 51, entered a guilty plea to Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine, in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Sections 841(a)(1) and 841(b)(1)(C), in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

The maximum possible penalty for Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine is imprisonment for a period of not more than 20 years and/or a fine of $1,000,000.00, and a term of supervised release to be determined by the Court.

The charges arose from an investigation by the McCurtain County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Assistant United States Attorney Nalani Ching represented the United States at the change of plea hearing, and the Honorable Kimberly E. West, U.S. Magistrate Judge, accepted the plea and ordered the completion of a presentence investigation report.

On or about December 24, 2019, in the Eastern District of Oklahoma, the defendant, Wendell Ray Caudle, did knowingly and intentionally possess, with intent to distribute, a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine.

The defendant also possessed a firearm, a Derringer, .32 caliber revolver, Model D-32, serial number 286056, in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime for which he may be prosecuted in a court of the United States.

The maximum possible penalty for Possession of a Firearm in Furtherance of a Drug Trafficking Crime is imprisonment for a period of not less than 5 years consecutive to the sentence in Count One, and/or a fine of $250,000.00.
