A Tulsa man has admitted to a conspiracy that's shaking the city to its core. Wesley Scott Stonebarger, 37, of Tulsa, pleaded guilty on Wednesday in U.S. District Court to conspiring to distribute methamphetamine.

According to prosecutors, Stonebarger conspired to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine to others, who then redistributed the drug to third parties in the Northern District of Oklahoma. The scheme lasted from October 2019 to February 2020.

Stonebarger's actions have put countless lives at risk, and authorities are relieved that he's being held accountable. 'Methamphetamine and fentanyl are two of the most notorious killers of our time,' said U.S. Attorney Trent Shores. 'This drug dealer had both at the time of his arrest.'

The investigation was a collaborative effort between federal agencies, including Homeland Security Investigations, the U.S. Marshals Service, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office, and the Wagoner County Sheriff's Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Joel-lyn A. McCormick prosecuted the case.

Stonebarger was arrested on December 19, 2019, after agents learned that he was wanted on a series of warrants. He's currently awaiting sentencing, which is set for January 7, 2021.

The case serves as a reminder of the importance of holding those who engage in illicit activities accountable. 'Anyone that distributes dangerous substances, such as methamphetamine, that destroys countless lives to make a profit has no place in our society,' said Ryan L. Spradlin, special agent in charge of HSI Dallas.

Stonebarger's crimes have had far-reaching consequences, and it's only fitting that he's facing the consequences of his actions. The community can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that this individual is being held accountable for his role in the methamphetamine conspiracy.
