GRIMY TIMES EXCLUSIVE: Methamphetamine Trafficking Plagues Oklahoma

A Murray County resident has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term for his role in a methamphetamine trafficking operation. William Parker Gray, 34, of Sulphur, Oklahoma, was handed a 151-month sentence in federal court for his involvement in the crime.

The charges against Gray stem from an investigation conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Murray County Sheriff's Department. On October 11, 2022, Sheriff's Officers stopped a vehicle and discovered Gray in possession of over 300 grams of methamphetamine, firearms, and a large sum of U.S. currency.

Gray pleaded guilty to one count of Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine on December 12, 2022. According to investigators, the evidence seized during the traffic stop was sufficient to prove Gray's guilt in the matter.

The Honorable Ronald A. White, Chief Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, presided over the hearings in Muskogee. With the sentence now handed down, Gray will remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshal pending transportation to a designated United States Bureau of Prisons facility to serve his non-paroleable sentence.

Assistant United States Attorney Erin Cornell represented the United States in the matter. The case highlights the ongoing struggle against methamphetamine trafficking in Oklahoma, a crime that continues to plague communities across the state.

In a statement, authorities emphasized the importance of continued cooperation between law enforcement agencies to combat the growing threat of methamphetamine trafficking. As the investigation into Gray's activities continues, Grimy Times will provide updates on any further developments in the case.
