A disturbing case of child exploitation has come to light in St. Louis, Missouri, as William Timothy Hopmeier, a 48-year-old man from Des Peres, pleaded guilty to two counts of Production of Child Pornography.

According to court documents, Hopmeier and his co-defendant, Kayla Bridges, used a cell phone to record two minor females engaging in sexually explicit conduct on several occasions between June 2017 and January 31, 2018.

The investigation, led by the St. Louis County Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, uncovered the shocking evidence that has now led to Hopmeier's guilty plea.

Hopmeier will face a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of at least 15 years. In determining the actual sentence, a judge is required to consider the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines, which provide recommended sentencing ranges.

The case was handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Rob Livergood for the U.S. Attorney's Office. Hopmeier's sentencing is set for October 23, 2019, before United States District Judge Audrey G. Fleissig.
