Willie Blair Jr., Fentanyl Trafficking, Pennsylvania 2022
A Pittsburgh man has been sentenced to over a decade in prison for fentanyl and cocaine trafficking.
Willie Blair Jr., 43, was sentenced to 135 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, on January 14, 2025, for violating federal narcotics and firearms laws.
According to the United States Attorney Eric G. Olshan, Blair was found to have possessed over one kilogram of a mixture and substance containing fentanyl with the intent to distribute it in early October 2022. He also attempted to possess over two kilograms of a mixture and substance containing cocaine and possessed a firearm and ammunition as a convicted felon.
Blair's residence was searched after a suspicious United States Postal Service parcel containing approximately two kilograms of cocaine was addressed to the residence. During the search, law enforcement found a total of approximately 1,262.8 grams of fentanyl, a kilogram press, packaging and cutting material consistent with drug trafficking, a loaded Glock pistol, and various ammunition.
Blair admitted to owning the fentanyl, drug trafficking tools, and pistol and ammunition and to being a multi-kilogram distributor of fentanyl and heroin, as well as attempting to possess with intent to distribute the cocaine seized from the USPS parcel.
Blair had several previous felony convictions for controlled substances, including a federal conviction for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and distribution of heroin.
The investigation was led by the United States Postal Inspection Service, Drug Enforcement Administration High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas Task Force, Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, and Pennsylvania State Police.
Assistant United States Attorney Carl J. Spindler prosecuted the case on behalf of the government.
The United States Attorney Olshan commended the agencies involved in the investigation for their work in bringing Blair to justice.
